At Kirkstall Bridge (part of Kirkstall Brewery), we are on the look for a Sous Chef at The Bridge Inn

We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Bridge Inn in Kirkstall. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh food, takes pride in high standards, and wants to be part of a friendly, supportive team in a busy and well-loved Leeds pub.

The Role

As a Sous Chef at The Bridge Inn, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to deliver consistently high-quality food in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and wider team to maintain strong standards across service, cleanliness, prep, and food safety.

This role is a full time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week, currently hourly with the potential to move to salaried. Shifts are across weekdays and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, cooking and plating dishes to a high standard
  • Supporting service during busy periods
  • Maintaining excellent kitchen cleanliness and organisation
  • Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are followed at all times
  • Completing prep and stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Assisting with deliveries, stock control and waste reduction
  • Working as part of a team to keep service smooth and efficient
  • Following recipes and spec sheets to maintain consistency
  • Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Chef (pub kitchen experience preferred)
  • A strong work ethic and a hands-on attitude
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Pride in cleanliness, organisation and food quality
  • Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
  • Reliable, punctual and a team player
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
