Full job description

ICare Solutions Stockport Limited presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join our established Training and Workforce Development Division. As a progressive organisation delivering high-quality, person-centred care across domiciliary care, supported living, and children’s services, we are committed to continuously strengthening workforce capability and raising standards across the sector.

Our Training Division is well embedded within the organisation and delivers a wide range of accredited and in-house training to both internal staff and external care providers, including agencies and statutory services. Our provision is aligned with CQC Fundamental Standards, Skills for Care guidance, and current legislative frameworks, ensuring that all training is compliant, relevant, and reflective of best practice.

Due to ongoing growth and service development, we are seeking a competent and confident Trainer who can deliver, develop, and enhance our training offer, ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to deliver safe and effective care.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of health and social care training programmes to care staff, including support workers, senior staff, and managers across ICare services and external organisations. The role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles, regulatory compliance, and practical application within care settings.

In addition to delivery, you will be expected to review and update training content in line with legislative changes, safeguarding developments, and organisational learning. You will also respond to emerging service needs by designing and delivering targeted or responsive training sessions where risks or gaps in practice are identified.

Training will be delivered primarily from ICare Solutions Stockport training venues, with travel across Greater Manchester and surrounding areas as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will design, deliver, and evaluate health and social care training programmes that are aligned with current legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and CQC regulatory requirements.

You will ensure all training is structured, engaging, and promotes safe working practices, safeguarding awareness, and person-centred approaches.

You will continuously review and update training materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with national and local expectations.

You will work closely with operational teams, compliance leads, and management to identify training needs, address performance concerns, and support service improvement.

You will maintain accurate training records, competency assessments, and evaluation reports to support audits, inspections, and governance processes.

You will support staff development through observation, feedback, and competency sign-off where required.

You will ensure all delivery reflects ICare’s values, promoting dignity, respect, independence, and positive outcomes for individuals in receipt of care.

The successful candidate must have experience delivering and assessing the following:

  • 2 Day Passport Manual Handling
  • Medication Administration and Competency Assessment
  • Safeguarding Adults and Children (Level 2 & 3)
  • Infection Prevention and Control

  • Health and Safety

  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and behaviour management strategies
  • Autism and Learning Disabilities
  • Dementia care and complex needs

  • Trauma-informed practice
  • Professional boundaries
  • Fire safety and evacuation procedures
  • Basic Life Support
  • End of life care awareness
  • Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE)

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary dependent on experience and qualifications, alongside mileage reimbursement where applicable.

You will have access to high-quality training resources, established materials, and administrative support to enable effective delivery.

You will be part of a professional and supportive organisation that prioritises workforce development, continuous improvement, and high-quality care delivery.

Candidate Requirements

You will have a strong background within health and social care, with demonstrable frontline experience.

You must have previous experience delivering health and social care training, particularly within domiciliary care or supported living services.
