Job Title: Tenancy Support Officer

Location: Chorley

Salary: £22,000 -£28,000

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

About Us:

Elemel are growing Community Interest Company, "We are committed to providing holistic support to vulnerable individuals, empowering them to lead stable and fulfilling lives.

Role:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Tenancy Support Officers to provide specialised assistance to individuals facing challenges such as alcohol dependency, addiction, mental health issues, and offending history. In this role, you will help individuals sustain their tenancy, improve their quality of life, and foster independence within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure that all housing management functions, including voids and lettings, rent and service charge arrears, anti-social behaviour and other tenancy breaches.

Health and safety and fire checks, and repairs and maintenance are carried out to a high standard.

To review maintenance works carried out in properties, confirm completion, and report any quality issues to the Area Manager.

Develop and implement individualised support plans addressing addiction, mental health, and offending behaviour.

Liaise with housing providers, mental health services, addiction support teams, and other relevant agencies.

Offer advocacy on behalf of clients, ensuring their rights and needs are met effectively.

Facilitate access to essential services, such as healthcare, rehabilitation programs, and employment opportunities.

Conduct regular visits to clients’ homes, identifying risks and providing practical solutions.

Deliver workshops or training sessions to promote life skills and tenancy sustainability.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience in working with individuals facing alcohol dependency, mental health challenges, or offending behaviour

Shows empathy, patience, and resilience when supporting vulnerable clients

Holds knowledge of housing legislation, addiction recovery frameworks, and mental health resources.

Has the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

Full driving licence and a car is essential
