Job Introduction
Housing Officer - Kings Cross Talent Pool

What you'll do

We regularly recruit for Housing Officers and are building a pipeline of candidates for future opportunities across our Operations Directorate. By joining our talent pool, you'll be considered for upcoming vacancies and we'll contact you when a suitable opportunity becomes available.

As a Housing Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering excellent services to residents and helping to create places where people feel safe, supported and proud to live. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of homes and schemes, building strong relationships with residents and understanding the issues that matter most to them.

By being visible, approachable and proactive, you'll help resolve problems, improve satisfaction and ensure residents receive a consistent, high-quality service. You'll work closely with colleagues, contractors, managing agents and local stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes and act as a strong advocate for residents.

Future opportunities based in Kings Cross will cover one or more of the following patches: North, East, Central & OOL. If these patch locations are not suitable, please check our other Housing Officer advert here: https://mytalent.nhg.org.uk/members/modules/job/detail.php?record=1955

How you'll do it
  • Build strong relationships with residents, responding to queries and concerns and ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
  • Conduct estate inspections and work with contractors and internal teams to maintain safe, well-managed homes and neighbourhoods.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints, ASB cases and other resident concerns, ensuring clear and professional communication throughout.
  • Manage service charges within your portfolio, ensuring transparency, fairness and effective communication with residents.
  • Work with managing agents, contractors and stakeholders to improve services and resolve issues promptly.
  • Use resident feedback, performance information and local knowledge to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance the resident experience.
The ideal candidate

We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our thriving organisation.

Essential:
  • Strong customer service skills, ideally gained in a housing or resident-focused environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, resilience and investigative skills.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and build positive working relationships.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong analytical skills.
  • Effective IT skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable:
  • Previous housing experience.
What happens next?

We regularly recruit for this role and use our talent pool to identify candidates who may be suitable for future vacancies.

As part of the process, applications will be reviewed and candidates may be invited to complete an assessment/screening call designed to help us understand their skills, experience and suitability for the role.

Candidates who successfully progress through our screening stage will be added to our talent pool and considered for future opportunities. When a suitable vacancy becomes available, we will contact talent pool candidates to discuss the role and invite them to attend a formal interview.

Due to the nature of talent pool recruitment, we may not contact all applicants immediately. We will retain your details in line with our recruitment privacy notice and will be in touch if a suitable opportunity arises.
