Full job description

£37,563 to £44,253 per year

Fixed term until 31.03.28, full time x 37 hours

Based between our offices at Honiton and Exmouth and with a range of flexibilities including hybrid working.

About the role

You’ll be required to facilitate arrangements of interim accommodation for homeless applicants, supporting them to move in, and moving on to settled accommodation. Working closely with Housing Officers and the rest of the team to successfully relieve homelessness as a priority in line with Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 legislation. You will also be responsible for acquiring cost effective temporary accommodation, ensuring East Devon District Council owned stock is ready for occupation and the efficient management of current accommodation available.

About you

You will be passionate and motivated with excellent communication skills that supports positive engagement with our clients and colleagues. You will have a good general education together with relevant experience and an ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting priorities in a fast paced and reactive environment. A helpful and friendly ‘can do’ attitude whilst being highly organised is essential and you’ll need to demonstrate resilience whilst dealing with challenging behaviours, in a calm and empathetic manner. A valid driving licence and your own car are essential.
