The Job:

The Council is looking for a Housing Officer Accommodation to help deliver its housing management services. The Council manages a small housing stock portfolio across a range of tenures, including general needs housing, temporary accommodation and shared ownership properties. In this varied and rewarding role, you will be responsible for delivering a housing management service to our tenants and leaseholders, helping residents to sustain their tenancies and access the support they need.

You will manage a diverse caseload, dealing with tenancy management issues, rent collection and arrears, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns and tenancy sustainment. The role also includes undertaking property inspections, estate and scheme visits, completing tenancy sign-ups and working closely with residents to resolve housing-related concerns.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Housing Services and external partner agencies, to provide an excellent overall service.

The Person:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

You will have experience of housing management or a related field and be confident working with customers who may have complex or diverse support needs. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to manage competing priorities, and be comfortable handling challenging situations in a professional and empathetic manner.

The successful applicant will work closely with tenants, support providers, statutory agencies and internal colleagues, so experience of multi-agency working and partnership collaboration is highly desirable. You will be a strong problem solver, able to work independently while contributing positively to a small, supportive team.

The Benefits:

The Council is an equal opportunities employer and has flexible working practices.

  • A generous annual leave entitlement
  • Opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Incremental pay award (awarded annually in April after one years’ service)

Closing date: Wednesday 18th November 2026

Interview date: Monday 23rd November 2026
