As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Housing Officer to support the management of our accommodation services, ensuring that properties are safe, well-maintained, compliant, and suitable for individuals receiving care and support.

The successful candidate will work closely with housing teams, care staff, landlords, local authorities, support workers, contractors, and external agencies to ensure excellent housing standards and positive outcomes for residents.

The Role

· The Housing Officer will support the Head of Operations in delivering effective housing operations across Rhythmic Care UK Ltd’s supported living, domiciliary care accommodation, and childcare-related housing services.

· The role will involve supporting tenancy management, property compliance, resident engagement, safeguarding responsibilities, inspections, repairs coordination, and maintaining high standards across all accommodation settings.

· The post holder will act as a key link between housing and care teams, ensuring accommodation arrangements support the wellbeing, safety, and independence of residents.

Key Responsibilities

Housing Management and Tenancy Support

  • Support the Head of Operations with the day-to-day management of supported living and care-related accommodation.
  • Assist with tenancy management, including tenancy agreements, occupancy records, rent-related matters, and housing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate housing records, resident files, property information, and compliance documentation.
  • Support residents with housing-related queries and promote independent living skills.
  • Assist with move-ins, move-outs, property allocations, and transition arrangements for new residents.
  • Work with residents, families, advocates, and professionals to resolve housing concerns effectively.

Property Compliance and Health & Safety

  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure homes meet required health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Support compliance with relevant housing legislation, including:
  • Housing Act requirements
  • HMO licensing requirements where applicable
  • Fire safety standards
  • Health and safety regulations
  • Property maintenance standards
  • Identify risks, report issues, and ensure appropriate actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain records relating to inspections, repairs, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
  • Support preparation for internal audits, local authority inspections, and care quality compliance reviews.

Supported Living and Care Service Support

  • Work collaboratively with care teams to ensure accommodation meets the needs of individuals receiving support.
  • Support housing arrangements for adults with additional needs, disabilities, mental health needs, and vulnerable individuals.
  • Ensure housing services complement person-centred care plans and support plans.
  • Attend relevant meetings with care managers, social workers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive living environment.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow Rhythmic Care UK Ltd safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Recognise and report safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • Work with care teams and external agencies where safeguarding concerns arise.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Promote the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of residents always.

Repairs, Maintenance and Contractor Management

  • Report, monitor, and follow up property repairs and maintenance requests.
  • Liaise with landlords, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of works.
  • Support planned maintenance programmes and property improvement projects.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure contractors comply with required standards.
  • Assist with managing property-related budgets and operational costs.

Communication and Partnership Working

  • Build positive relationships with:
  • Residents and families
  • Care workers and managers
  • Landlords
  • Housing providers
  • Local authorities
  • Health and social care professionals
  • External contractors
  • Provide professional communication and timely updates on housing matters.
  • Support effective collaboration between housing and care departments.

About You

We are looking for an organised, compassionate, and proactive individual who understands the importance of safe housing environments within health and social care services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in housing management, supported living, social care accommodation, or a similar environment.

You will be confident working with vulnerable individuals, managing competing priorities, maintaining compliance standards, and supporting excellent service delivery.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in housing management, supported living, social housing, or care accommodation environments.
  • Good understanding of tenancy management and housing compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults, children, or individuals requiring support.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and reporting procedures.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.
  • Ability to travel between properties when required.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Housing qualification (CIH or equivalent).
  • Experience working within:
  • Supported living services
  • Domiciliary care environments

  • Children's residential or supported accommodation services
  • Knowledge of CQC expectations and regulated care environments.
  • Experience working with local authorities, housing associations, or care commissioners.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
