HR Manager
HR & Payroll Department

Ready to lead HR in a fast-paced hospitality business where no two days are the same?

Harry Ramsden’s Group is looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to lead all HR & Payroll activity across our growing multi-site hospitality operation.

This is a broad, operational and highly visible role where you’ll partner directly with senior leadership, restaurant teams and operational managers across the business.

From complex employee relations and employment law to payroll, training, compliance and people strategy — this role sits right at the heart of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading HR & Employee Relations

  • Managing complex HR casework from start to finish
  • Conducting investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, appeals and capability hearings
  • Managing absence, welfare meetings, mediation and dismissals
  • Leading TUPE and redundancy consultation processes
  • Providing practical employment law advice to operational managers

Payroll & Compliance

  • Responsible for operational payroll and processing Head Office payroll (training provided)
  • Ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance and governance
  • processing SSP, pensions, holiday pay and statutory obligations
  • Managing Subject Access Requests and GDPR compliance

Training & Development

  • Delivering practical management training virtually and on-site
  • Facilitating our 2-Day Management Training Programme
  • Delivering workshops including:
  • HR Essentials
  • AWOL Investigation Training
  • How to Manage Absence
  • Disciplinary & Grievance Handling
  • Investigation Skills
  • Employment Law & ACAS Best Practice

Policies, Systems & People Projects

  • Updating and maintaining company policies and employee handbooks
  • Managing HR, payroll and recruitment systems
  • Supporting business change and operational projects
  • Producing HR reports and analytics

What We’re Looking For

✔ Strong HR generalist experience
✔ Payroll management ideally however not essential - training provided
✔ Hospitality, retail or multi-site operational background preferred - not essential
✔ Confident handling complex employee relations independently
✔ Strong understanding of UK employment law
✔ Experience updating policies and employee handbooks
✔ Comfortable delivering management training
✔ Commercially minded, resilient and hands-on
✔ CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent HR generalist experience
