Job Type: Fixed term contract – 6 months

Full time 37.5 hpw = 8 hour shift (including lunch break) Day shift

Work Location: Hybrid in Liverpool/ Merseyside

We are looking for detail oriented and task focused professionals to join our team in providing support to adult survivors of human trafficking and modern-day slavery in the North West.

The role will consist of managing a caseload of up to 20 survivors in their recovery journey and supporting them with their recovery needs. All our Outreach clients live independently (this is not an accommodation-based role), but still require support accessing their ECAT entitlements, such as medical treatment, mental health services, legal representation, ID, education etc. Your role will be to facilitate access to the needed services by signposting or referring the clients to the appropriate stakeholders. In addition, Project Workers are expected to complete accurate and detailed official documentation for the Home Office, therefore excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Outreach Project Workers are the professionals who interact the most with our clients and will be required to advocate on their behalf and facilitate communication with third parties involved with their cases.

An ideal candidate will have a great aptitude to work with vulnerable people, have knowledge of record keeping, be highly organised and be an excellent communicator. As every case is unique, each client will have different recovery needs to be considered from a person-centred perspective. Furthermore, our clients all come from different social and cultural backgrounds; therefore, we are looking for staff who can be open-minded and sensitive to their needs and necessities.

The cases that we work with include:

  • Complex mental health needs
  • Addiction
  • Asylum seekers
  • Refugees
  • Sexual violence
  • Domestic abuse
  • Homelessness

Our Liverpool office is based in the city centre - a short five-minute walk from Liverpool One bus station, with a view of the waterside.

Hybrid working is offered for this role, but you would be required to be in the office certain days of the week, and more frequently during the probation/training period.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to support individuals to be safe and enable them to be independent
  • Ability to multi-task and liaise with multi-agency network to support clients
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent prioritizing skills
  • Ability to manage work from home and communicate with managers remotely
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and interest working with vulnerable people
  • Strong formal writing skills
  • Good level of general IT skills
  • Ability/interest in supporting challenging clients and resolving conflict situations
  • A good understanding of systems and record-keeping
  • Safeguarding knowledge
  • Ability to travel in the North-West area
  • Bilingual preferred

Benefits and Rewards:

  • Annual leave entitlement of 33 days (pro-rata) including bank and public holidays
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Bike to Work Scheme
  • We are an equal opportunities employer
  • Excellent training and development opportunities

We welcome applications from individuals with an interest in developing a career in this area, ideally with transferrable skills from previous experience, and/or compatible educational experience.

Should you require further details of the role, please contact: OutreachNWManagement@sjog.org.uk who will be happy to provide any further information.

  • Health & wellbeing programme
