We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Dance Movement Psychotherapist / Dance and Movement Therapist to join our dedicated and friendly multidisciplinary team at Holybourne Hospital on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a specialist inpatient mental health service, supporting adults with complex mental health needs through creative, body-based, and evidence-informed therapeutic interventions.

At Holybourne Hospital, we provide intensive treatment within a safe and compassionate environment for adults aged 18 and over who present in crisis with severe and complex mental health conditions. Our focus is on helping patients stabilise, develop insight, build coping strategies, and make meaningful progress in their recovery.

This role is 0.4 WTE (15 hours per week across 2 days), working across both our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Acute Mental Health Wards. You will work as part of the wider Therapy Team and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality therapeutic care.

You will provide individual and group Dance Movement Psychotherapy interventions, supporting patients to develop emotional awareness, self-expression, grounding, interpersonal connection, and emotional regulation through movement-based approaches. The role offers the opportunity to work creatively and flexibly within a supportive and reflective clinical environment.

You will receive regular supervision, access to CPD opportunities, and support from an experienced and established therapies team.

What you'll be doing:

Provide specialist Dance Movement Psychotherapy assessments and interventions for patients with complex mental health presentations
Deliver individual and group therapeutic movement sessions across PICU and Acute services
Use movement, embodiment, and trauma-informed approaches to support emotional expression, regulation, and recovery
Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, care planning, risk management, and review meetings
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reports
Work collaboratively with the wider MDT to support psychologically informed and recovery-focused care
Participate in clinical governance, audit, service development, and reflective practice
Maintain relevant professional registration, CPD, and professional standards
Participate in regular (external) clinical supervision, Line Management and team meetings

What you'll have:


Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist with appropriate professional accreditation (ADMP UK or other e.g. HCPC UKCP)


Experience working within mental health and inpatient settings
Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and individual interventions
Skilled in working with complex mental health presentations, including acute distress and emotional dysregulation
A compassionate, creative, and recovery-focused approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Ability to work independently and manage a varied clinical workload

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
