Are you looking for an exciting and diverse role within IT?

Puffin Produce Ltd are the largest supplier of Welsh produce in Wales, supplying a wide variety of potatoes and seasonal vegetables to multiple major retailers and wholesalers. Our organisation hold an excellent reputation as a progressive and developing company within their field and we are currently looking to expand our existing Team.

As IT Support you will support our colleagues based at both the Puffin Produce Ltd and Pembrokeshire Creamery Ltd site. You will be responsible for providing first point of contact and first level support for issues as well as contribute to the overall development of the IT systems/solutions. You should demonstrate professional competence and a character that inspires trust and promotes inclusion and diversity at all levels. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional or recent graduate looking to make a real difference in a forward moving and fast paced food manufacturing business. Whilst this roles main focus is IT support there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to develop within the role by undertaking internal and external training.

You will be based at our offices in Havefordwest and will be required to work across a number of local sites. Your normal working hours will be 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday although due to the nature of work, you might be expected to work on shifts or be on call as and when required.

What you can expect from the role

  • Log, categorise and prioritise support tickets and enhancement requests.
  • Provide technical assistance/gather information on hardware and software issues and assisting in resolution of technical issues in a timely manner using available resource within the company. Escalates issues internally, when a solution is not achieved.
  • Perform hardware and software installations, configurations, and updates as need.
  • Provide training and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensures that all 3rd party tickets are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the delivery of new network cabling in line with network expansion.
  • Observes relevant company policies and procedures to the highest standard.
  • Participate in scoping new requirements and system/network improvements.
  • Maintains good working relationships with suppliers, customers, and all cross functional colleagues.
  • To assist with cost management and contribute to cost reduction strategies in accordance with the Company plan.

Key skills and qualifications that you will need

  • Motivated and ambitious with the drive to progress your career within the business.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, Windows 360 and Windows 10/11
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent people and communication skills with a competent level of written and verbal English.
  • Work in line with Health and Safety Disciplines within the Department.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding, or the ability to learn in-house systems and procedure
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Reliable with high levels of personal integrity.

Key skills and qualifications that are desirable but not essential

  • Knowledge of Active directory and Office 365
  • Cabling experience
  • Holds a current driving licence for travelling between sites.
