IT Support Technician

Temporary role with potential to become permanent
Location: Westbury
Salary: £30,000 FTE (pro rata)
Part-time opportunity – approximately 3 days per week

Our client is a well-established global organisation operating within the food manufacturing sector, with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and operational excellence.

As part of an international group, the business combines global expertise with local operations, supplying high-quality products to customers across multiple markets. The organisation is committed to continuous improvement, investing in its people, technology and processes to support future growth.

Due to ongoing business needs, they are looking for an experienced IT Support Technician to join their Westbury site on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

The Role

This is a hands-on, site-based IT support position, providing technical assistance to colleagues across the business and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and services.

You will act as a key point of contact for users, resolving technical issues, maintaining equipment and supporting improvements to the organisation’s IT environment.

The role would suit an IT professional who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working closely with people across a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line IT support to users via phone, email and face-to-face interaction
  • Manage and respond to support requests through the company ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues
  • Install, configure and maintain computers, peripherals and IT equipment
  • Support end-user devices and workplace technology
  • Assist with printer management and maintenance
  • Carry out routine system maintenance activities
  • Support IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with wider IT teams and business stakeholders
  • Follow IT security policies and procedures

About You

The successful candidate will be a customer-focused IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide effective support in a fast-paced environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an IT support/service desk role
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software and network troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting end users within a business environment
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, business applications and workplace technologies
  • Experience using IT ticketing systems
  • Good understanding of IT security principles and best practice
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn new systems

Experience within a manufacturing, production or operational environment would be advantageous.
