About the role

We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to deliver both day-to-day IT support and key IT improvement projects across TAC Healthcare.

The role supports internal and external stakeholders, negotiates with and manages providers, and works with the organisation’s security and support teams to deliver a high-quality service in compliance with ISO standards.

You will lead the TAC IT team in supporting the business’s infrastructure, network, data, communications, hardware and software across its sites, while managing third-party providers to deliver quality services to staff and customers.

What you will do

  • Lead, coach and develop the TAC IT team to deliver high-quality day-to-day IT support and services.
  • Act as the escalation point for IT support, diagnosing and resolving complex issues and leading major incidents through to post-incident review.
  • Deliver key IT projects and improvements from scoping through to handover, on time and on budget.
  • Manage third-party providers, monitoring SLA performance and negotiating contracts.
  • Oversee the administration, patching and security of core systems, including Microsoft 365 and networks.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessments, implement mitigations, and maintain and regularly test backup, recovery and business continuity processes.
  • Source, purchase, install, configure and maintain software and hardware.
  • Manage key business software, licences, updates and contracts.
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate IT systems, policies and procedures that meet ISO standards and data protection requirements.
  • Audit internal systems and report on findings that support business objectives.
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities where IT can add value.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure IT remains engaged with business plans and strategies.
  • Maintain and update internal technical documentation, procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of company, customer and health data in line with company policy and data protection law.
  • Help end users reduce avoidable IT incidents and outages through how they use IT equipment.
  • Represent the TAC Healthcare IT department professionally at all times.

This is not an exhaustive list of duties. All members of TAC Healthcare IT may be required to carry out additional reasonable tasks appropriate to their role and capability.

All members of staff are required to participate in appraisals, self-development, and mandatory and statutory training.
