Pay: £12.71 per hour (National Living Wage)
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time, Permanent
Start: Immediate

About the Role

We are looking for friendly, reliable Bar Staff to join the team at The Navigation Inn, a vibrant canal-side pub in Wootton Wawen. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving drinks to a high standard, and helping to maintain a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy pub environment and takes pride in great hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve drinks and food to customers promptly and with a friendly, professional manner
  • Prepare a range of beverages including cask ales, wines, spirits, and cocktails
  • Operate the till accurately, handle cash and card payments, and follow all financial procedures
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked bar area throughout each shift
  • Assist with cellar duties including changing barrels, stock rotation, and deliveries
  • Follow all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and food hygiene standards
  • Support the wider team during busy periods, events, and functions
  • Help with opening and closing duties as required

Requirements

  • Previous bar or hospitality experience preferred but not essential — full training provided
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident speaking with customers
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure
  • Comfortable handling cash and working with EPOS systems
  • Must be aged 18 or over

Schedule

  • Flexible hours — evenings, weekends, and bank holidays required
  • Part-time and full-time hours available
