The macromolecule R&D team is currently 100, and the bio-discovery team is around 40 people, with 7 sub-departments underneath (tumour immunology, target discovery validation, efficacy, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, etc.)

Requirements:

2、Solid biology background, strong target and mechanism comparison, strong innovative thinking; experience in antibody/ADC related projects;

We are seeking an experienced and accomplished cancer biologist to lead our

Discovery Biology team to discover and develop novel targets and biomarkers for

cancer patients by integrative translational research and ‘big-data’ approaches. This

role will report to the VP of Huiyu Research Institute and partner with the director of

Antibody Discovery. Together the leadership team ensures that target and molecule

evaluations due diligence activities and biologics platform technologies are

coordinated, tracked and managed to meet the needs of Huiyu BioTherapeutics.

The successful candidate will participate in developing therapeutic strategies, esp in I/

O, build up the discovery team consisting of scientists with complementary expertise in

immunology, in vitro and in vivo modeling, pathology, PK/PD and toxicology, genomics

and bioinformatics. Resources will be available to build the Director’s team, including

Ph.D. and associate scientists. He or she will oversee the prosecution of anti-cancer

antibody discovery programs, and make sure compliance with policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop novel therapeutic strategies for cancers, esp. in immuno-oncology

approaches.

  • Discover new targets and biomarkers for targeted patients through integrative

translational research.

  • Lead antibody drug discovery programs in oncology to target the human

adaptive and innate immune systems.

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the experimental work, data analysis, and

developmental protocols.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in oncology or immunology or molecular immunology in the context of

oncology biological sciences including molecular/cell biology, pharmacology, or

biochemistry with focus on immunology.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience leading a group in an academic or industrial

setting.

  • Proven and broad knowledge in the field of I/O with in vitro and in vivo model

experience a plus.

  • Outstanding written and oral communication required.
  • Deep expertise and solid track record of productivity as evidenced by

completion of complex projects, publications in high impact peer-reviewed

journals, and/or patents.

  • Strong experience leading teams and managing individuals from the associate

to principal scientist level, developing both direct reports and matrixed team

members, including performance management.

  • Entrepreneurial/solution driven mindset.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with excellent time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced excellence-driven

environment.

  • Experience with antibody drug discovery project teams including target

discovery, screening strategies, and validation through to protein engineering a

plus.

  • Prior experience working with CROs and/or with academic collaborators

preferred.
