Full job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Curry Chef to join our culinary team and play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing authentic Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or South Asian curry dishes, with a strong understanding of traditional spices, flavours, and cooking techniques.

This role involves leading kitchen operations, maintaining high food quality standards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and contributing to menu development. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating outstanding curry dishes while supporting and motivating the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of authentic curry dishes to a consistently high standard.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with company recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Manage the preparation and cooking of curries, sauces, marinades, and traditional accompaniments.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and support the smooth running of service.
  • Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
  • Minimise food waste and maintain effective portion control.
  • Assist in developing new curry dishes and seasonal menu offerings.
  • Train and support junior kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Work closely with management and front-of-house teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Curry Chef in a restaurant, takeaway, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or South Asian cuisine.
  • Experience preparing a variety of curry dishes, tandoori dishes, biryanis, and traditional sides.
  • Excellent understanding of spices, flavour combinations, and traditional cooking methods.
  • Strong leadership and kitchen management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Previous experience supervising kitchen staff.
  • Experience in menu development and cost control.
  • Knowledge of stock management and ordering procedures.
