Second Chef – Tudor Raj, Bristol

Overview

We are looking for an reliable Second Chef to join our busy Indian restaurant in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, and can support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and service.

As Second Chef, you will play an important role in preparing authentic Indian dishes, supporting kitchen operations, supervising junior kitchen staff when required, and helping ensure that every dish is prepared to a high standard.

Working Hours

Split shift:

12:00pm – 2:00pm

5:00pm – 10:00pm

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking Indian dishes to restaurant standards.

Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, curries, tandoori items and other menu dishes.

Ensure all food is cooked, presented and served to a high standard.

Support the smooth running of lunch and evening service.

Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards in the kitchen.

Help monitor stock levels and inform the Head Chef when supplies are needed.

Assist with food preparation for busy periods, takeaway orders and dine-in service.

Support and guide junior kitchen staff when required.

Follow all health and safety, food hygiene and kitchen procedures.

Help reduce food waste and maintain portion control.

Requirements

Good knowledge of Indian cooking methods, spices, curries and tandoori-style dishes.

Ability to work under pressure during busy service times.

Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Ability to follow instructions from the Head Chef and management.

Understanding of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety.

Flexibility to work split shifts, evenings and weekends if required.
