Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a deep understanding of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoori cooking. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic dishes in a vibrant restaurant environment, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising kitchen operations, managing food production, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic tandoori dishes with precision and flair, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, supervising junior staff and ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Manage food production processes, including marinating, seasoning, and grilling meats and vegetables in the tandoor oven.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the team in food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards before service.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to plan menus and introduce new dishes that reflect authentic flavours.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge of Indian cuisine.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or similar role within a busy restaurant setting.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoori cooking techniques.
  • Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
  • Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team management.
  • Passion for culinary excellence and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Pay: £500.00-£650.00 per week
