Junior Chef

Pay: £30,000.00 per year

We are launching one of the UK's most ambitious luxury Punjabi fine dining restaurants, with a vision of creating a truly world-class culinary destination. Our goal is to redefine modern Punjabi cuisine through exceptional ingredients, innovative techniques, impeccable service and uncompromising attention to detail.

Every aspect of the restaurant has been designed to compete with the very best Indian restaurants in the UK and internationally, with a long-term ambition of achieving Michelin recognition.

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Junior Chef to join our opening kitchen brigade and develop their career within an exceptional culinary environment.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside an experienced Executive Chef, Head Chef and Sous Chef in a kitchen committed to culinary excellence.

As a Junior Chef, you will assist with food preparation, service and daily kitchen operations while learning the highest standards of modern Punjabi fine dining. You will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, consistency, attention to detail and a genuine passion for authentic Indian cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and complete daily mise en place to the highest standard.
  • Assist with the preparation and service of dishes across all kitchen sections.
  • Follow recipes, specifications and plating guides accurately.
  • Maintain exceptional food quality and presentation standards.
  • Support the Executive Chef, Head Chef and Sous Chef during service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared safely and in accordance with HACCP procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation at all times.
  • Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and food storage.
  • Help minimise food waste and maintain excellent portion control.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen brigade to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, improve and develop professionally.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have previous experience working as a Junior Chef within an Indian restaurant.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience as a Junior Chef in an Indian restaurant.
  • Good knowledge of Indian ingredients, spices and cooking techniques.
  • Experience preparing authentic Indian dishes in a professional kitchen.
  • Understanding of food hygiene, HACCP and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for authentic Punjabi and Indian cuisine.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop.
