Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kerala Chef to lead our culinary team and deliver authentic Kerala cuisine. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase traditional flavours while managing a dynamic kitchen environment. The Kerala Chef will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest quality of dishes served to our valued guests.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook authentic Kerala dishes with precision and creativity, maintaining traditional flavours and presentation standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes
  • Manage food production processes, including ingredient sourcing, portion control, and waste minimisation
  • Oversee food safety practices in compliance with health regulations and company policies
  • Lead team management efforts by training staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
  • Assist in menu planning and development to introduce new dishes while preserving authentic Kerala cuisine
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence within the team

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen specialising in Indian or Kerala cuisine
  • Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality standards, and serving procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
  • Prior experience working in a busy restaurant environment is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
  • Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering authentic Kerala flavours
  • Good communication skills and the ability to train and motivate team members effectively

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
