Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and have experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase authentic flavours, manage kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing traditional Indian dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen assistants
  • Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency
  • Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and proper storage procedures
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
  • Assist in menu planning and development to introduce new dishes and seasonal specials
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control effectively
  • Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality excellence

Experience

  • Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment specialising in Indian cuisine or similar culinary traditions
  • Extensive food production experience with a focus on authentic Indian cooking techniques
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse kitchen staff
  • Demonstrable expertise in food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards in a restaurant setting
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within hospitality establishments
  • Previous experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
