Responsibilities

  • Prepare and display fresh fish and seafood products with skill and attention to detail
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all food handling and storage processes
  • Assist customers by providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering questions about seafood options
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and presentation of products to maximize freshness and appeal
  • Monitor inventory levels, restock displays, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste
  • Follow all health regulations and safety procedures diligently during food preparation and cleaning tasks
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and a welcoming shopping environment

Skills

  • Experience in food production, especially seafood handling or fishmongery preferred
  • Culinary experience or background in restaurant kitchens highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Proficiency in food preparation techniques including filleting, deboning, and portioning fish
  • Familiarity with butchery skills related to seafood products
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about product options
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
