Full job description

Social Media Growth Strategist

We’re looking for a creative, organised, and data-driven Social Media Growth Strategist to lead our organic social across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. You’ll turn insights into ideas, ideas into tests, and tests into repeatable wins that grow reach, engagement, and revenue for our gym equipment products.

Important: We are only reviewing applications from candidates who have a proven track record of building and growing social media accounts—either for themselves or on behalf of another company. This experience must be clearly shared in your screener questions. Applications without this will not be reviewed.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and own a channel strategy and content calendar, prioritising experiments that drive follower growth, saves/shares, CTR, and conversions.
  • Generate high-impact content ideas and briefs (hooks, formats, scripts, CTAs) aligned to customer pain points, keywords, and trends.
  • Run a structured testing programme (e.g., 3–5 tests/week): thumbnails, hooks, length, captions, posting times, hashtags, sounds, and formats.
  • Analyse performance daily/weekly using native analytics and dashboards; quickly double-down on what works and cut what doesn’t.
  • Create clear reports with insights, actions, and next steps; present to the team.
  • Collaborate with designers/creators to produce assets; source and brief influencers where it accelerates growth.
  • Develop growth loops (giveaways, challenges, referral mechanics) and community tactics (DM flows, comments, lives, polls).
  • Tag and track content (UTMs) to connect social to web behaviour and sales.
  • Stay ahead of algorithm and trend shifts; document best practices and playbooks for repeatable, scalable content.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record growing social accounts (must be demonstrated in screener answers).
  • Strong ideation skills and knowledge of short-form storytelling (hooks, pacing, retention).
  • Comfortable in analytics: slicing data, building dashboards, and turning numbers into actions.
  • Excellent copywriting for captions, scripts, and on-screen text.
  • Platform fluency: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook (native analytics, scheduling, best practices).

Nice to have:

  • Experience in fitness/gym equipment or adjacent categories.
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar) to iterate quickly on cuts/subtitles/thumbnails.
  • Experience with influencer/creator sourcing and brief writing.
  • Basic design skills (Canva/Adobe) for thumbnails and quick turnarounds.
  • Product photography/videography skills are a bonus, not the core of this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • On-site parking

Application question(s):

  • Give an example of a time when you used analytics (e.g., TikTok Analytics, Meta Insights, YouTube Studio) to change your approach and deliver better results.
  • Please share links to at least two social media accounts you have managed (either personal brands or company accounts). For each, describe your specific role and the measurable growth achieved (e.g., increase in followers, engagement rate, or revenue impact).
  • This role is based in Middlewich and requires working on-site at our office. Are you able to reliably commute or relocate to Middlewich to meet this requirement?
  • When making edits to posts (e.g., trimming clips, adding captions, changing thumbnails, or resizing for different platforms), what software or tools do you typically use? (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, Photoshop). Please give an example of an edit you made that improved performance.
