This role offers a balance of home and office working. You will be required to attend the office based in Malvern one day per week. There will also be the requirement to occasionally travel to meetings/events across the country. Candidates must be comfortable with this requirement.

This role will require a basic DBS check.

Job Summary: The Technical Analyst will work closely with the Head of Cyber Essentials to assist in maintaining the technical consistency of the scheme at all levels.  This will involve providing support to the IASME technical support and moderation teams, assessors, certifying bodies (CB's) and external organisations. The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience in IT Infrastructure support, a strong understanding of cyber security principles, and the understanding of how to implement and maintain security measures in line with Cyber Essentials requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To assist in maintaining consistent application of the Cyber Essentials requirements, including firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection, and security update management.

· Assist in the development and implementation of Cyber Essentials questions sets, and technical guidance on the Cyber Essentials knowledge hub and other related projects.

· Provide Technical webinars and presentations focusing on the application of the Cyber Essentials standard.

· To communicate with assessors and CBs via Teams meetings, phone conversations and on-site visits, to improve their understanding of the scheme and address issues arising from the moderation process, Yammer forums, and LinkedIn CE user Group.

· Stay up to date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies, particularly those relevant to Cyber Essentials.

· From time to time, undertake any other duties that may be required by the organisation.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Experience working in Cyber Security or an IT Services Support company

· Experience in IT infrastructure support, including managing and supporting desktop and server operating systems, thin clients, IOS, Android, Windows and Apple.

· Strong knowledge of Cyber Essentials standards and requirements.

· Experience with network security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanning in the context of Cyber Essentials.

· Proficiency in managing and supporting Windows and Linux server environments.

· Familiarity with cloud services and virtualisation technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware).

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

COMPETENCIES DESIRABLE:

· Any experience of mentoring junior team members.

· Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are a plus.
