About the role

Work hours are generally part-time including weekday evenings and weekends.

Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by:

  • Clacton Leisure Centre, Vista Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 6DB

A DBS check will be required before starting your volunteering hours.

Shortlisted applicants will be given the opportunity to find out more about the swimming teacher opportunity at an informal virtual meet and greet session and interview that will take place after the closing date. You don't need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training, although we are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.

Tendring Leisure are actively recruiting and are committed to supporting the development of our instructors. Successful candidates will have access to a range of development opportunities, including CPD courses and additional qualifications in areas such as SEND provision, higher-stage teaching, Water Polo, and other specialist disciplines. Tendring Leisure are keen to help staff broaden their skills and progress into further opportunities within the organisation.

There may be an opportunity for Swimming teachers to complete other qualifications e.g. lifesaving qualification (Pool Lifeguard or National Rescue Award). Swimming Teachers will be required to sign a training agreement with a commitment to work for Tendring Leisure for a minimum of two years.
