Job Overview

A to E Training & Solutions is a national healthcare training provider delivering resuscitation and clinical skills education across NHS and independent healthcare organisations throughout England. We have a strong track record of developing experienced healthcare professionals into nationally accredited Resuscitation Officers and clinical educators.

We are currently recruiting specifically for clinicians based in, or within reasonable travelling distance of, London, Oxford, Northampton, Leicester, Basingstoke and Southampton.

These are the locations where we currently need to strengthen our clinical team. If you are not based in, or able to reasonably cover, one of these areas, please do not apply on this occasion.

We welcome applications from a broad range of registered healthcare professionals with recent acute clinical experience, including Nurses, Midwives, Paramedics, Doctors and other appropriately registered clinicians.

We recognise that clinicians develop relevant emergency and resuscitation experience across many different areas of healthcare. This may include acute medicine, emergency care, critical care, theatres and anaesthetics, maternity and obstetric care, paediatrics, neonatal care and other environments where recognising and responding to the deteriorating patient is an important part of clinical practice.

You do not need to already be a Resuscitation Officer or experienced clinical educator to apply.

This is a practical, hands-on developmental role suited to clinicians who want to use their clinical experience to develop a career in resuscitation and healthcare education. You will deliver training across a range of healthcare settings while developing your clinical, educational and leadership capability within a structured and supportive environment.

Candidates joining as an Assistant Resuscitation Officer will undertake a structured development pathway, including opportunities to progress towards nationally recognised instructor qualifications.

Candidates who already hold relevant Resuscitation Council UK advanced instructor status may be appointed as a Resuscitation Officer, with opportunities to develop further within our specialist areas of activity.

With appropriate support and supervision, you may also undertake the role of a clinical member of resuscitation teams at contracted sites and contribute to wider governance activity associated with resuscitation practice.

The role requires flexibility, UK travel and occasional overnight stays. Delivery locations and deployment will vary from week to week depending on client and operational requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will deliver and support resuscitation and clinical skills training across NHS, independent healthcare and other clinical environments and assist with the delivery of nationally accredited resuscitation programmes.

You will work with multidisciplinary groups of healthcare professionals, helping learners develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence required to respond effectively to clinical emergencies.

Where required and appropriately trained, you will participate in resuscitation attempts and emergency response activity at contracted clinical sites. You will also contribute to audit, policy development, quality improvement and governance activity relating to resuscitation practice.

Maintaining your own clinical credibility and professional development is an important part of the role, alongside developing your skills as a clinical educator.

About You

You must hold current professional registration with the NMC, HCPC, GMC or GDC and have recent relevant clinical experience.

Your professional background could include nursing, midwifery, paramedic practice, medicine or another registered healthcare profession. We are interested in clinicians who can bring strong clinical foundations, an understanding of acute or emergency care and an enthusiasm for developing others.

Experience within acute medicine, emergency care, critical care, theatres, anaesthetics, maternity, obstetrics, paediatrics, neonatal care or another relevant acute clinical environment would all be considered.

Previous experience delivering training or supporting skills-based education would be helpful but is not essential. More important is your clinical experience, your ability to communicate confidently with different professional groups and a genuine interest in developing as a clinical educator.

You must be comfortable working independently, travelling to different client locations and working as part of a wider clinical education team.

A full UK driving licence is required.
