Please note: You must be available to attend 6 weeks of full-time training before moving into your part-time hours.

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how a person's health condition or disability impacts their day-to-day life. Your reports help support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in making decisions regarding Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claims.

This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your clinical knowledge, strengthen your assessment skills, and work with a diverse range of physical, sensory, cognitive, and mental health conditions.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting assessments via face-to-face, telephone, and video appointments
• Exploring how a claimant's condition affects their daily living and functional ability
• Reviewing and analysing clinical evidence and supporting documentation
• Producing detailed, evidence-based reports following assessments
• Using your clinical judgement in a structured and supportive environment
• Continuously developing your knowledge across a wide range of health conditions

Flexible Working Options
We offer both:

• Hybrid working - combining home working with attendance at your nearest assessment centre as required
• Fully onsite roles at selected assessment centres

This flexibility allows you to choose the working arrangement that best suits your lifestyle.

What we're looking for

• Current NMC or HCPC registration
• At least 1 year of post-registration experience
• Strong communication, listening, and observational skills
• Comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office
• Good written skills and attention to detail
• Ability to accurately document information while conducting assessments
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)

Previous report-writing experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training and ongoing support are provided.
