Full job description

Fraud Investigator / Loans Underwriter

Together Loans is a rapidly growing US company, spun out of the Richmond Group. We now run as a standalone company and are looking for motivated and ambitious people to join our fast-paced environment.

As part of the Fraud and Underwriting investigation team you'll be working to ensure our customers are fully verified, and identifying fraudulent applications through a thorough case review.

Whilst they'll be several 'standard' things you'll be checking as part of your case review - ultimately you'll have complete autonomy and will be expected to dig as deep as you need to in order to get comfortable with the loan that you're signing off.

To be successful in this role you'll need to be meticulous and detail-orientated and be able to consolidate information to make clear and justifiable decisions independently.

We’ll ask you to:

  • Take ownership for the full loan underwriting process, reviewing applications and making accurate decisions on which loans should be paid out to prospective borrowers
  • Undertake a full assessment and evaluate the credit worthiness of an applicant through credit analysis via Credit Reference Agency data
  • Identify potential fraudulent applications
  • Become an expert in the customer journey, looking for unnecessary friction to drive a more streamlined customer experience
  • Produce reports for the wider group detailing your findings and take ownership to ensure the resolution of any issues found, and the delivery of any recommendations you make.

We think you’ll need:

  • Ambition - A hunger to learn, self-reflect and do whatever it takes to become an invaluable member of the team.
  • Persistence - Stick at a problem, task or project, despite any hurdles that are thrown at you along the way.
  • Curiosity - Be comfortable venturing outside of your desk into the heart of the operation, connecting the dots between people, processes, systems and products.
  • Flexibility - Be happy to switch gears and adapt quickly to changing tasks, projects and business needs.
  • Excellent written skills; the ability to communicate accurately and succinctly in writing.

What we offer in return:

  • £100/month Fitness Allowance
  • Free breakfasts and lunches from our cafe
  • Use of Tesla Model X & BMW i3 electric vehicles
  • Use of our luxury properties in Dordogne, Cornwall, Chicago and Shoreditch when not in use by project teams
  • Contributory Pension
  • 28 days annual leave increasing with length of service (up to 5 years), your birthday off (or nearest working day). If you work a UK bank holiday, you will receive the day back in lieu plus an extra 0.5 days leave.
