We are seeking a dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our experienced IRO service. The IRO plays a key role in ensuring children in care have a smart care plan that meets their individual needs, ensuring they have high aspirations, security and permeance.
The IRO’s role as a critical friend is to ensure Doncaster’s children in care receive the highest standard of support, that their care plans are robust, timely, and focused on achieving positive outcomes. Working together with the team around the child including social workers, managers and partner agencies. Escalating concern and practice challenge in a restorative way when standards are not met, influencing positive change.
You will chair statutory reviews, monitor care planning, and challenge practice where necessary to ensure compliance with legislation and guidance. This is a pivotal role in promoting the voice of the child and driving improvements across services. Your experience and expertise will be key for driving improved outcomes for the children of Doncaster
To be successful in this post, you will need to have a broad knowledge of statutory children’s social work, your experience and expertise will be key for driving improved outcomes for the children of Doncaster. You must be a Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration and have 5 years post qualifying experience of supervising staff at a Team Manager level. Significant experience in children’s social care, including care planning, statutory guidance and safeguarding.
