Full job description

The Manager, International Business Development plays a pivotal role in advancing Energizer’s International growth strategy – with a strong (but not exclusive) focus on Auto Care. Operating within the International Trade & Business Development (ITD) team and covering all International markets, this role is both strategic and entrepreneurial in nature.

The individual will identify and evaluate growth opportunities, commercial partnerships, and acquisition prospects. The role also covers key initiatives aimed at simplifying the Auto Care business model, including route-to-market strategies.

The ideal candidate will act as a project manager, linking cross-functional teams, to drive solutions. He/she will work closely with the broader ITD team as well as with key stakeholders in Regulatory, Global Category, Marketing, Supply Chain and Commercial teams, ensuring identified opportunities are grounded in robust insights.

The position influences across all international markets and all product categories. This role requires a self-starter attitude with strong strategic and analytical skills, and an ability to operate across functions and levels. The position requires comfort in navigating complexity, driving initiatives forward in matrix environments, and mobilizing resources to deliver business impact.

Auto Care Strategic Planning & Growth Opportunities

  • Support the development of the Strategic Plan for International Auto Care, coordinating inputs across commercial, finance, and marketing to align on growth priorities and objectives.
  • Support Auto Growth plans for key markets. Contribute to the growth of the 7 Lead Auto Care markets by generating ideas, identifying barriers to growth, and proactively driving cross-functional solutions.
  • Lead initiatives to simplify the International Auto Care business, including portfolio rationalisation, route-to-market (RTM) changes, and overall ways of working to drive efficiency and focus.
  • Assess new growth opportunities, including market entry, exit, and category expansion, ensuring decisions are insight-driven and focused on sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Lead or participate in key Auto Care projects.

(Potential) Acquisition Assessment and Integration Support

  • Drive proactive acquisition assessments, identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets that support strategic expansion; prepare business cases and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired businesses, ensuring a smooth transition into Energizer.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strategic thinking and strong communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a proven track record of driving results.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and build credibility internally and externally (without direct authority); confident in working with all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable operating independently and navigating unstructured situations.
  • Strong analytical experience with a passion for solving complex problems.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong command of English; additional language(s) a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%).
  • Experience in a diverse, international environment preferred.
  • 5+ years of successful track record of working in Product Management, Category Management, Sales, Project Management or Supply Chain Management.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Multilingual (English plus any additional language).
  • Experience with International markets.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Cultural sensitivity.
