About EA Accountancy

EA Accountancy is a young, fast-growing accountancy firm working with modern UK service-based businesses and SMEs.

We focus on real relationships, real advice, and real impact - not just compliance for the sake of it.
We’re building something different from the traditional accountancy model and want people who are excited by that.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced, client-facing Senior Accountant who enjoys working closely with business owners and helping them understand their numbers.

This role blends technical accounting, tax advice, and relationship management, with the opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to how the firm grows.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Advisory

  • Manage a portfolio of SME clients as their main point of contact
  • Build strong, long-term client relationships
  • Provide practical advice on:
  • Corporation tax
  • Personal tax
  • Salary vs dividends
  • Tax planning and cash flow strategy
  • Explain financial information clearly and confidently, without jargon

Accounting & Compliance

  • Prepare and review financial statements in line with UK accounting standards
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including journals and reconciliations
  • Manage and review accounts payable processes
  • Support month-end and year-end close
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide required documentation

Systems & Process

  • Use cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Apron
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Contribute to improvements in internal processes and reporting

Team & Leadership

  • Mentor and support junior accountants
  • Review work and help develop technical and client-handling skills
  • Work closely with the Director on higher-level planning and advisory work

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong UK accounting and tax knowledge
  • Confident dealing directly with clients
  • Experience with cloud accounting software (Xero essential)
  • High attention to detail with a commercial mindset

Desirable

  • Interest in advisory and planning work
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, growing environment

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong financial accounting, reporting, and analysis skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights clearly
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Personable, confident, and professional with clients

Why Join EA Accountancy?

  • Hybrid working in Manchester
  • Young, ambitious, and supportive team
  • Real responsibility and client exposure
  • Clear progression as the firm scales
  • No corporate politics or outdated ways of working

This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:

  • Wants more than a compliance-only role
  • Enjoys client interaction and advisory work
  • Wants to grow quickly with a modern firm
  • Likes autonomy and responsibility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £37,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
