Ecommerce Manager - D2C sportswear fashion brand - Shopify plus

Central Manchester

Full time head office based role

The role :

As the Ecommerce Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving our global digital growth by taking full ownership of the end-to-end online experience. This role requires a high level blend of commercial acumen, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of premium visual merchandising. You will be responsible for the digital P&L, transforming brand concepts into a high-converting digital reality through strategic platform management, site optimisation, and a relentless focus on the user journey.

You will lead the management and evolution of our Shopify Plus ecosystem, serving as the technical lead for all on-site operations. This involves overseeing product listings, navigation, and checkout processes to ensure the platform remains robust, fast, and scalable. Beyond standard site management, you will leverage your technical web development knowledge to bridge the gap between creative vision and technical execution, ensuring that all third-party integrations and custom apps contribute to a seamless, premium customer experience that reflects A-Game’s position in the market.

A core focus of this position is the continuous optimisation of the customer journey and visual merchandising. You will lead initiatives across CRO and UX, utilising heatmapping and A/B testing to identify and remove friction points within the sales funnel. Working closely with content and creative teams, you will ensure that landing pages and product pages are not only aesthetically aligned with our brand ethos but are also engineered for maximum conversion.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day trading performance, overseeing promotional campaigns and seasonal strategies to drive measurable improvements in key metrics, specifically Average Order Value (AOV) and Lifetime Value (LTV).

The role involves a heavy emphasis on data-driven decision-making and commercial forecasting. You will be responsible for monitoring all ecommerce KPIs, conducting deep-dive analysis into traffic sources and customer behaviour, and translating complex data into actionable strategies.

You will build and maintain custom reporting frameworks to keep the leadership team informed of trading performance, market trends, and peak period forecasts. You will also collaborate closely with supply chain and marketing teams to ensure inventory depth supports upcoming pushes, ensuring full operational alignment across the brand.

Staying at the forefront of ecommerce trends and competitor activity is essential to maintain A-Game’s competitive edge. While this is not a digital marketing role, you will work collaboratively with our performance specialists to ensure on-site experiences are perfectly synchronised with paid media efforts across Meta, Google, and TikTok. This role requires a proactive mindset, exceptional technical organisation, and a genuine passion for high performance activewear and the D2C landscape.

working hours are 7:30am - 4pm. and this a full time head office based role 5 days a week

Experience required

  • 4+ years’ experience in a Senior or Ecommerce Manager role for a D2C brand, ideally within fashion, activewear, or a premium lifestyle environment.
  • Proven track record of taking full ownership of a digital P&L, driving measurable growth in revenue, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer Lifetime Value (LTV).
  • Expert-level proficiency with the Shopify Plus ecosystem, including deep knowledge of the app landscape, theme customisation, and complex backend integrations to support a premium customer journey.
  • Strong technical understanding of web development and site architecture, with the ability to manage site performance, speed, and reliability while bridging the gap
  • between creative and technical execution.
  • Advanced experience in Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) and UX, with hands-on skill in using heatmapping, A/B testing frameworks, and data-led insights to remove friction from the sales funnel.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital visual merchandising, ensuring product presentation, site navigation, and landing pages are both aesthetically premium and commercially engineered for conversion

High proficiency in data analysis and visualisation using GA4 and Looker Studio (or similar), with the ability to build custom dashboards that translate complex data into clear, actionable commercial insights.

  • Confident communication and reporting skills, with a proven ability to present trading performance and strategic next steps clearly to internal leadership.
  • A proactive, hands-on team player with a can-do nature and the technical organisation required to manage an entire ecommerce operation in a fast-paced environment.
