Full job description

Job purpose:

Ensure the company adheres to both internal policies and external regulations across the sites. Provide guidance on legal, compliance, and data protection matters, manage risk, and ensure the business operates with integrity and in line with industry standards.

Roles & responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations in both regions.
  • Assist with day-to-day data protection activities and administrative tasks, including checking mail boxes and tickets
  • Support the logging and tracking of data protection queries and incidents
  • Help gather information from internal stakeholders

Policy & Procedures:

  • Review compliance policies and ensure staff adherence.
  • Be able to spot trends and help provide compliance training and maintain awareness across sites.

Risk Management:

  • Identify compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct audits and investigations as required.

Reporting:

  • Prepare regular compliance reports for management.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, incidents, and training.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Advise internal teams on compliance issues and ensure integration into daily operations.

Monitoring & Enforcement:

  • Investigate non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Help maintain data protection registers and compliance documentation

Ad Hoc Projects:

  • Lead or assist in compliance and risk-related projects and initiatives.

Person specification:

Regulatory Knowledge:
Understanding of laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, AML, FCA rules, Financial Services regulations).

Analytical Skills:
Ability to interpret complex legal documents and assess risk exposure.

Attention to Detail:
Scrutiny of policies and procedures to ensure compliance and identifying potential issues.

Risk Management:
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating business risks related to non-compliance.

Communication Skills:
Clear communication with stakeholders at all levels, explaining complex legal concepts.

Problem-Solving:
Resolving compliance issues efficiently and offering practical solutions.

Organisational Skills:
Managing multiple compliance tasks, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to deadlines.

Project Management:
Leading or contributing to compliance initiatives, audits, and training.
