Full job description

We're looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Coordinator to join our team at Pickstock Foods on a 13-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

This is an important role within our finance team, taking ownership of the purchase ledger function and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

We're a friendly, down-to-earth business and we're looking for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work and likes being part of a small, supportive team.

Whilst the role is initially offered as a maternity cover contract, there may be longer-term opportunities within the business for the right person.

What you'll be doing

  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Managing supplier accounts and resolving queries
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Preparing and processing payment runs
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Foreign exchange reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end processes
  • Maintaining supplier records
  • Producing reports and finance administration
  • Using Sage 50 to maintain accurate financial records

What we're looking for

  • Previous purchase ledger/accounts payable experience
  • Experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload
  • Friendly and professional communication skills

A few important things to know:

This role is office-based and requires attendance across five working days each week. Due to the nature of supplier payments and invoice processing, five-day coverage is essential.

However, we're happy to be flexible around start and finish times and understand that many candidates may be balancing other commitments.

If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership, work as part of a supportive team and make a genuine contribution to a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Benefits:

  • Bereavement leave
  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Employee discount
  • Enhanced maternity leave
  • Enhanced paternity leave
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
  • Sick pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Swadlincote DE11 7FN: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Accounts payable: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
