Chef — Starters & Salads

⚠ BUSY KITCHEN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED — Bizzarro is a high-volume Italian restaurant and we only want to hear from chefs who have worked in fast-paced, busy kitchens. If you can't handle the heat of a packed service, this role is not for you.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced chef to own our starters section — covering hot starters, cold starters, and salads. You will be responsible for delivering beautifully presented, authentic Italian dishes consistently and at pace throughout every service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plate hot starters, cold starters, and salads to a consistently high standard
  • Work efficiently and accurately during busy service without compromising on quality or presentation
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared in line with authentic Italian recipes and the restaurant's standards
  • Manage mise en place and ensure the section is fully prepped before every service
  • Maintain strict food hygiene, allergen awareness, and kitchen safety standards at all times
  • Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and communicate any shortages to the head chef
  • Work closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth, coordinated service

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a chef in a busy, high-volume kitchen — essential
  • Hands-on experience preparing hot and cold starters and salads
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine and a passion for quality ingredients
  • Ability to work at speed and stay composed during a demanding service
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene regulations and allergen requirements
  • A reliable team player who takes pride in their section
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
