Full job description

The Purchasing & Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement of products from suppliers, ensuring stock availability, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and supporting the efficient flow of goods from producers to customers. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers, logistics partners, warehouse operations, sales, and finance teams to ensure product availability while controlling costs and maintaining service levels.

Your duties will include:

Purchasing & Supplier Management

· Placing orders with EU suppliers, ensuring accuracy of quantities, pricing, and terms

· Maintaining effective supplier relationships and monitoring performance

· Reviewing and ensuring the quality of purchased products

Logistics & Operations

· Ensuring timely delivery of goods from suppliers to designated transport partners for UK shipment

· Liaising with brokers and hauliers regarding inbound shipments

· Verifying documentation for customs clearance

· Coordinating closely with warehouse and operations teams

Stock & Data Management

· Monitoring inventory levels and performing numerical analysis to ensure continuous product availability

· Proactively preventing stock shortages

· Maintaining accurate purchasing and stock data within internal systems (CRM/ERP)

Internal Communication

· Liaising with warehouse, accounting, operations, and sales teams

· Ensuring clear and timely communication regarding orders, deliveries, and any issues

Process Improvement

· Identifying and implementing improvements in purchasing and supply chain processes

· Contributing to increased efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness

Required Skills & ExperienceExperience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management.
  • Experience within food distribution, wholesale, retail, FMCG, or import/export environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent Excel and data analysis capabilities.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
