Full job description
At JPMorganChase, we understand that customers seek exceptional value and a seamless experience from a trusted financial institution. That's why we launched Chase UK to transform digital banking with intuitive and enjoyable customer journeys. With a strong foundation of trust established by millions of customers in the US, we have been rapidly expanding our presence in the UK and soon across Europe. We have been building the bank of the future from the ground up, offering you the chance to join us and make a significant impact.
As a Product Associate at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a crucial role in this initiative, dedicated to delivering an outstanding banking experience to our customers. You will work in a collaborative environment as part of a diverse, inclusive, and geographically distributed team. We are seeking individuals with a curious mindset and a keen interest in new technology. Our engineers are naturally solution-oriented and possess an interest in the financial sector and focus on addressing our customer needs. We work in teams focused on improving the reliability, resilience, observability, and operability of customer-facing digital banking services. We build automation, define measurable reliability practices, reduce operational friction, and partner with engineering teams to ensure services are designed, delivered, and operated with reliability in mind.
Job responsibilities
- Support the product strategy and delivery of reliability capabilities, including standards, observability, incident practices, automation, and developer experience improvements.
- Partner with engineers, site reliability engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand problems, gather requirements, and translate ideas into clear product work.
- Support roadmap planning and prioritisation to align delivery with business goals, engineering needs, and reliability outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, reduce operational friction, and help teams build and run services confidently.
- Use data and feedback, including incident trends, service health metrics, adoption data, and stakeholder input, to guide decisions and measure progress.
- Create clear product materials, including problem statements, user stories, acceptance criteria, release notes, and enablement content.
- Facilitate Agile delivery ceremonies, including stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Maintain delivery hygiene by keeping boards healthy, preparing tickets, clarifying scope, tracking dependencies, and escalating issues when needed.
- Use approved AI tools to draft and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, feedback summaries, incident learnings, and documentation.
- Follow through on actions and help teams move from discussion to delivery.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with technical teams and understand how systems, platforms, and services operate.
- Ability to discuss technical topics with engineers while explaining concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Foundational understanding of APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, incident management, or software delivery.
- Experience solving ambiguous problems by asking thoughtful questions and breaking work into practical next steps.
- Experience using data and feedback to make decisions, including service health metrics, incident patterns, adoption trends, or user feedback.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, dependencies, and follow-ups in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and supporting continuous improvement in planning, execution, and team learning.
- Learning mindset with interest in modern engineering practices, platform products, developer experience, and Site Reliability Engineering.
- Ability to use AI-assisted ways of working responsibly while maintaining good judgement, confidentiality, and controls.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience working on platform, developer experience, reliability, or technical product capabilities.
- Experience supporting product adoption, enablement, or change management for engineering teams.
- Familiarity with observability, incident management, reliability standards, or operational excellence practices.
