Sushi Chefs

Chefs are expected to be well presented and experienced in their field, have the ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision, showcase your skills with our monthly food tasting and a chance for your dish to be featured within one of our restaurants.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • £32,000 - £38,000 per annum depending on skills and level of experience.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Proven experience in Japanese food specialising in correct cutting of Fish and Sashimi presentation
  • Excellent people skills
  • Passionate about what you do and an eagerness to develop with us.

  • Has a good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure and have strong organisational skills.

DUTIES:

  • Ensuring they report for duty on time and dressed appropriately.
  • Ensuring all required ingredients are prepared and ready for service.
  • Monitoring food quality of all preparations.
  • Minimum level 2 requirement in Health & Safety.
  • Assisting with menu planning and development including creativity and experimentation with new trends and menu ideas and recipes for sushi.
  • Ensuring all products are produced to meet customer demand in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring safe hygiene practices are maintained at all times.
  • Ensuring the highest quality food is produced on a consistent basis.
  • Following the recipes and maintaining the food costs set by the company at all times.
  • Informing the Sous Chef or Head Chef of and items needed to be ordered within the specified time scale.
  • Providing a friendly, courteous and professional attitude at all times.
  • Ensuring legal compliance with hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy and are completely cleaned at the end of each shift.
