We’re looking for an Account Manager to play a key role in driving the commercial performance and strategic partnership with, one of our most significant retail customers. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Customer Business Lead to deliver the customer strategy, manage day to day relationships, and unlock growth across our AkzoNobel decorative brands.

What you’ll do:
  • Support the delivery of the strategic and commercial ambition for the account.
  • Own the day to day relationship with Buyers across the AkzoNobel portfolio.
  • Prepare and implement account specific strategies aligned to sales, profit, and business objectives.
  • Deliver agreed volume, sales, margin, and cash collection targets across assigned brands.
  • Manage financial performance including P&L, fixed costs, margins, R&As, GIV and budgets.
  • Lead the execution of commercial plans including range reviews, promotions, category activity, and new product listings.
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring strong forecasting, promotional planning, and budget control.
  • Develop supply chain strategies to maximise availability and growth across key categories.
  • Use data and insight to identify customer opportunities and improve commercial performance.
  • Act as the key interface between the customer and internal teams including Finance, Marketing, Category, Insights, and Supply Chain.


What you bring:
  • Proven commercial sales experience with strong account management capability.
  • Solid understanding of how retail customers activate brands and categories.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing P&L and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and manage complex relationships.
  • Confident using data and insight to drive commercial decisions.
  • Clean UK driving licence (essential), travel required both to customer and 1 office weekly.
