Full job description

Job Role: Manufacturing Technician

Location: Starna Scientific - 52-54 Fowler Road, Hainault, Essex, IG6 3UT.

Pay: Starting £13.00 per hour, scope to increase at 6,12, & 15 months

Hours: 39.75 hours per week (Mon-Thur 0800:1645 Fri 0800:1515)

Please note that only full time permanent positions are available.

Applicants must have right to work in the UK and able to reliably commute to IG6 3UT

Please note that this is NOT a general warehouse role, experience in a production line / assembly of products by hand would be essential.

Picking, Packing and forklift driving are not the skills that are required for this vacancy.

Starna Scientific is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of optical components for scientific equipment used in chemical analysis.

It is a family-owned company with over 100 employees and exports to over 90 countries worldwide. With a very diverse product range and customer base it is an extremely stable company with a very strong reputation within its’ industry.

We are seeking people with various practical skills for a variety of roles in the manufacture of high-precision optical components. Roles on offer include:

· Optical polishing – learn how to precisely hand polish high precision optical components.

To be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Excellent hand-eye co-ordination

High levels of attention to detail

Standing for long periods of time

Patient and calm approach

Previous experience in optical / manufacture polishing (advantageous)

Basic numeracy

Understanding of how to use a micrometre and vernier

Willingness to learn new skills and progress

There is a high level of care and attention to detail required for these roles.
