Manufacturing Colleague

Please note that this is NOT a general warehouse role, experience in a production line / assembly of products by hand would be essential.

Picking, Packing and forklift driving are not the skills that are required for this vacancy.

Location: Starna Scientific Ltd, Hainault Business Park, 52-54 Fowler Road, Hainault, Ilford, Essex IG6 3UT

Hours: 39.75 hours per week (Mon-Thu 08:00-16:45 and Fri 08:00-15:15)

Salary: Starting at £12.40 with the scope to increase at 6,12, & 15 months

Please note: Only Full Time, Permanent positions are available. Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK and must be able to reliably commute to IG6 3UT

We are seeking people with various practical skills for a variety of roles in the manufacture of high-precision optical components. Roles on offer include:

· Optical polishing – learn how to precisely hand polish glass components

· Optical grinding – precision engineering of glass

· Glass fusing – precise fusing with heat and water

To be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

· Excellent hand-eye co-ordination – having the following working / hobby backgrounds would be advantageous, jewellery making, artist, furniture maker, a craft requiring precision and a steady hand.

· High levels of attention to detail

· Patient and calm approach

· Basic numeracy

· Understanding of how to use a micrometre and vernier advantageous

· Willingness to learn new skills and progress
