About Stirling Timepieces

Stirling Timepieces is a fast-growing British watch company with strong roots in the military community.

Alongside our core watch collection, we work with military units, organisations and private clients to create bespoke and limited-edition timepieces. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a talented Junior Designer / Artworker to support our design team across a wide range of projects.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior creative who wants to build experience in product design, artwork preparation and client-led projects.

You will support the design team in developing watch concepts, preparing artwork for production, creating bespoke Special Projects designs and producing miscellaneous creative work to support Stirling’s continued growth.

A key part of the role will involve working from client briefs to create custom unit watches, often incorporating crests, insignia, logos, colours and meaningful design details.

The role is varied and fast-paced, so you must be comfortable moving between different projects while maintaining a consistently high standard of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design and development of new watches and accessories.
  • Creating bespoke watch concepts for Special Projects clients.
  • Working from client briefs to develop unit watch designs.
  • Preparing logos, crests, insignia and artwork for use on dials, casebacks, packaging and promotional materials.
  • Producing accurate artwork files for suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Making design amendments following internal and client feedback.
  • Creating digital mock-ups and presentation visuals.
  • Checking artwork carefully before it is approved for production.
  • Organising project files, artwork versions and client approvals.
  • Supporting the wider business with social media graphics, email assets, website imagery, packaging, print materials and other design requirements.
  • Working closely with the Special Projects team, customers, suppliers and workshop.
  • Helping maintain consistent brand standards across all creative output.

About You

You will be creative, organised and highly attentive to detail.

You should have:

  • A strong eye for layout, typography, colour and visual balance.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • The ability to prepare clean, accurate artwork files.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation and file-management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence taking feedback and making revisions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

A degree or qualification in graphic design, illustration, product design or a related subject would be beneficial, but a strong portfolio and the right attitude are equally important.

Previous experience in watches, luxury goods, product design, military design or manufacturing is not essential, as training will be provided.

What We Offer

  • Salary of £25,000–£30,000, depending on experience.
  • Full training and support.
  • The opportunity to design unique watches with meaningful stories.
  • Experience working across product, branding and client-led design.
  • A varied creative role within a growing British company.
  • Staff discount.
  • Opportunities to develop as the design team and business expand.

Attention to detail is essential in this role. A very small artwork error can affect an entire production run, delay a project or result in a finished watch that does not accurately reflect the client’s requirements. To demonstrate that you have read the full job description, please include a short cover letter containing the phrase: “Attention to detail matters.”

Please also briefly explain why attention to detail is particularly important when preparing design work for manufacture.

Applications submitted without this may not be progressed.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Stamford, Lincolnshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: In person
