Role

The role will entail managing a team of junior residential conveyancers, undertake and supervising their work, assisting in training and development of your team whilst managing a small case load. You will be working on high quality work from local and national estate agents, financial advisers, mortgage brokers and direct clients. We have full administrative support with separate teams to deal with quotes, file opening and post completion work.

Department Duties

· Undertake a small caseload of fee earning work in Residential Conveyancing in the Conveyancing department

· Exercising high standard of client care at all times

· Responsible for Risk management of all matters within the team and the Department as a whole.

· Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Code of Conduct, the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) and other accreditations as appropriate. Ensuring continued and profitable growth consistent with the objectives and values of the Firm.

· To manage a team of two/three conveyancers who handle a full mixed caseload, supervise/deputise their work and train and develop them with support from the Head of Conveyancing and other conveyancing managers. This will involve reporting to and attending clients with relevant information on tier transactions and advising clients where necessary

· To ensure the deliverance of team targets; both financial and completion targets, to ensure optimum performance and motivation

· Ensure proper control of work in progress,

· Ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the strategy identified in the business plan.

· Ensuring continued and profitable growth consistent with the objectives and values of the Firm

Required Skills

  • Experience of working within a residential conveyancing department as a successful fee earner for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Responsible for self-development and comply with relevant training requirements by the Law Society and in-house training when required
  • Experience of all aspects of conveyancing including all the above ‘areas of work’
  • Knowledge of all conveyancing areas and understanding GDPR and Equality Standards
