Job Overview

With 50 years of experience, System Six Kitchens is a family-run manufacturer and retailer of high-quality bespoke kitchens. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Project Designer to join our Trade and Contracts Departments based in Exeter.

This is a design focussed role supporting our Trade and Contracts teams in producing accurate, practical and visually appealing kitchen layouts for a wide range of residential and commercial projects.

Unlike many kitchen design positions, this role is not sales-focused and does not involve sales targets or project management responsibilities. Instead, it is ideally suited to someone who enjoys the technical and creative aspects of kitchen design and takes pride in producing accurate, well considered work.

This role would suit an existing Kitchen Designer, Junior Designer, CAD Technician, Design Assistant or someone from an interior, furniture, architectural or construction background with strong transferrable skills and a genuine interest in kitchen design.

Experiencing using Compusoft Winner, ArtiCAD or similar CAD design software would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

We are looking for a reliable, professional individual seeking a long-term career within a well established and growing business.

Responsibilities

· Create innovative, practical and accurate kitchen layouts using Compusoft Winner design software.

· Interpret architectural drawings, customer plans and site survey measurements to produce detailed kitchen designs.

· Work closely with the Trade and Contracts Teams to develop designs from detailed project briefs.

· Produce professional customer handover packs, including annotated plans, elevations and 3D visuals.

· Maintain accurate design records and ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard.

· Keep up to date with kitchen design trends, product developments and CAD software updates

· Support colleagues with technical design information where required.

· Contribute towards the smooth delivery of projects through accurate and timely design work.

Requirements

Essential

· Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

· Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

· Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously and work to deadlines.

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· Competent IT skills and confidence learning new software systems

· Professional, reliable and self-motivated approach to work

Desirable

· Previous experience in kitchen design, interior design, furniture design, CAD design or similar technical design role.

· Experience using Compusoft Winner, ArtiCAD, Fusion, AutoCAD or similar design software

· Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical plans.

· Knowledge of kitchen products, furniture manufacturing or interior design principles.

As well as a very competitive salary, we offer the following benefits

· Company Pension (3% Employer & 5% Employee contribution)

· 28days Holiday (Inc. 8 Bank Holidays & Shutdown over Christmas period)

· Free On-Site Car Parking

· Appropriate Uniform

· Regular performance and pay reviews

· Length of service holiday increase (Taking holiday entitlement up to a maximum of 33 days, inc. Bank holidays and Christmas shutdown)

· Fun fast paced environment

· Discounted Gym Membership

· Employee of the Month & Year Awards

· Reimbursed eye test cost for any VDU users
