Junior Technical Consultant Wealth Management
Junior Technical Consultant Wealth Management
Job details
Full job description
Help shape the future of financial planning technology.
Join our Global Wealth Solutions team and work with banks and wealth managers across the UK to deliver innovative financial planning solutions that help people achieve their long-term financial goals.
If you're analytical, enjoy solving problems, and want to develop your skills in a growing international business, we'd love to hear from you.
What do we have to offer?
As a Technical Consultant, you'll work closely with colleagues in both our London and Dutch offices while supporting UK wealth managers and banks that use our OPAL financial planning platform. You'll have regular contact with clients, helping them get the most value from our solutions and supporting the technical aspects of implementation, integration and ongoing use.
OPAL is our Goal-Based financial planning tool, helping advisers turn client goals into robust financial plans and investment strategies. By combining cash flow modelling, risk analysis and economic scenarios, OPAL helps advisers create plans that can adapt across a range of market conditions.
We work closely with our clients to understand their business and improve their advice processes. Underpinned by OPAL, we are creating an ecosystem that can support whole advice journeys for clients.
In this role, you'll gain first-hand experience of how financial planning and investment advice work in practice. You'll work with banks and wealth managers to understand how portfolios are constructed, how risk is assessed, and how financial plans are developed around real-life objectives such as retirement, major life events and long-term financial security. You’ll help translate this planning and investment logic into modern digital experiences, working with APIs, data feeds, and reporting tools that underpin today’s advice and planning platforms.
Beyond delivery, you'll become a trusted adviser to our clients, helping solve technical challenges, supporting integrations and delivering training. The role offers significant opportunities for growth, whether your interests develop towards consultancy, solution architecture, financial planning analytics, product development or proposition leadership.
You’ll develop highly transferable skills across financial planning, investment modelling, scenario analysis, and client communication, supported by a flexible working model that combines office time, remote working, and occasional client visits in the UK and internationally.
Introducing the team
We are the OPAL Client Servicing team. We help our clients get the most from our software, from implementation through to ongoing support and development. We're a diverse team with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, but we share the same values: taking ownership, supporting each other, building long-term relationships, and continually looking for better ways to help our clients succeed.

What's in it for you?
You'll join a growing business where you'll have the opportunity to work directly with leading UK wealth managers and banks, develop your expertise, and help shape the future of financial planning technology.
The salary range for this position is £45,000-£50,000 per year, depending on your experience and skills.
In addition, we offer:
-
A performance-based bonus
-
Participation in our company pension scheme
-
Private medical and dental cover, Group Life and Critical Illness cover
-
27 vacation days and the possibility to sell or buy more
-
Hybrid working: working from the office in central London with possibility to partly work from your home office and a working from home allowance
-
An open and inclusive work with inspiring, friendly, and enthusiastic colleagues.
-
Opportunities to develop yourself with a training program as well as weekly research and knowledge meetings
Who are you?
You enjoy working with clients, solving complex problems and have a genuine interest in financial markets. You have some experience working with APIs, data integration, and/or financial modelling, and you're excited about navigating the intersection of technology and investment advice. Your communication skills allow you to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You think creatively, act proactively, and enjoy working in diverse, high-paced environments. And of course, you recognize yourself in our core values.
You'll also bring:
-
A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or similar technical field with an interest in financial markets.
-
1-2 years relevant working experience at a leading UK or global bank, wealth manager, or advice-led institution.
-
Genuine enthusiasm for how technology can enhance adviser efficiency and client outcomes.
-
Strong communication and presentation skills.
-
Ability to translate complex financial planning methodologies (e.g., stochastic scenario analysis, goals-based planning) into simple, client-focused value propositions.
-
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
-
You are currently resident in the UK and eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
We'd particularly like to hear from you if you have:
-
Experience with financial planning software, advice technology platforms or digital client portals.
-
An understanding of how financial advice is delivered, both through advisers and digital channels.
-
Experience working directly with clients.
-
A Level 4 RDR qualification.
