Full job description

Vectric (https://vectric.com) is a fast-moving, employee-owned UK company that has produced an award winning range of 3D design and CNC machining software tools for more than 20 years. Based in the beautiful market town of Alcester, Warwickshire, our global sales are made directly online and through our world-wide network of CNC machine tool manufacturers who include our software in their CNC solutions. Our customers range from artists, creative designers and hobbyists to engineers, well-known commercial companies and industrial manufacturers. We provide high performance software tools, developed entirely in-house, designed to be enjoyable to use and accessible to anyone regardless of technical background.

Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Manager to take ownership of a recently acquired CAD/CAM software product serving designers, makers, educators and specialist businesses requiring accessible and affordable CNC machining capabilities. The product has a strong presence in hobby and education markets, together with established applications in areas including product design, jewellery, woodworking, medical applications, arts and specialist prototyping. Initially, the role will encompass responsibility for all non-development aspects of the product, including product positioning, sales, customer support, documentation, marketing coordination and integration into the wider business.

You will have:

A first-class degree or Masters in relevant field.

  • At least 5 years' experience in an advanced manufacturing or strongly technical commercial environment.
  • Proven skills in developing and implementing the full-cycle of a commercial strategy
  • This role would suit an energetic candidate with a drive to make a direct impact in a competitive commercial environment and is ready for the next step on a career path towards leadership.

Experience managing a software product or technology-based product line, particularly within CAD/CAM, CNC, manufacturing, design or education, would be advantageous. Familiarity with digital marketing, e-commerce, CRM and customer-support platforms, online user communities and direct-to-customer sales would be beneficial. Experience producing technical documentation, training materials, product content and demonstrations, together with an understanding of customer-led product development and market research, would also be valuable. A working knowledge of CAD/CAM principles, CNC machining and desktop or small-scale manufacturing technologies, along with an understanding of software integration and AI-assisted productivity tools, would be an additional advantage.

Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
