Full job description

Software Developer with AI Innovation

Location: Worthing, West Sussex

Job Type: Full-Time (permanent)

Salary: From £40,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

About Us

We are a forward-thinking company deploying cutting-edge CCTV camera systems across the country, including advanced ANPR (Automatic Number-Plate Recognition) and PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) tracking cameras.

We are on a mission to evolve our existing CCTV systems, software programs and infrastructure into a next-generation platform. Our goal is to streamline our current software ecosystem and integrate advanced, intelligent AI. We know that the future is powered by smart tech, so we aren't just looking for someone to maintain the status quo; we want a developer who will actively push our company into a new era. If you love building and expanding robust backend systems but get genuinely excited about the practical applications of Machine Learning and AI, you’ll fit right in.

The Role

As our Software Developer, you will bridge the gap between our existing systems and next-generation AI features. You will design, build and optimise core business applications while identifying and implementing AI capabilities that will streamline our operations, improve our products and keep us ahead of the competition.

What You'll Do

  • Architect & Code: Build and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using modern frameworks to achieve peak efficiency.
  • Drive AI Integration: Research, prototype and implement AI/ML capabilities, Large Language Models (LLMs), or automation tools into our existing software to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the wider team to understand company bottlenecks, then solve them using smart tech solutions.
  • Maintain: Ensure system uptime, proactively identify faults or issues and deploy rapid resolutions to address them.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Coding Knowledge: Hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core / .NET 8+, alongside the tools required to build clean, testable and maintainable APIs and backend systems.
  • AI Enthusiast: Proven experience or a strong, practical understanding of integrating AI technologies (e.g., OpenAI APIs, Azure AI Services, etc.) into commercial applications.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: You don’t just wait for instructions. You look at our business, see where AI can add massive value and build the proof of concept to show us how it's done.
  • Database Knowledge: Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases.
  • DevOps Mindset: General familiarity with cloud platforms.
  • Industry Knowledge (Bonus): Some familiarity with CCTV or Hikvision cameras would be highly advantageous but is not a strict requirement.

Why Join Us?

  • Real Impact: You won't just be a cog in a machine. You will directly influence our technology roadmap and shape how our company leverages advanced AI.
  • Growth & Learning: We encourage experimentation. If you want to test a new AI framework or tool that helps the business, we’ll give you the space to do it.

Compensation & Benefits

Financial & Future

  • Competitive Salary: From £40,000 per annum, scaled upward depending on your experience.
  • Workplace Pension: Secure company pension contributions.
  • Unrivalled Company Rewards: We love to reward hard work. Perks throughout the year include high-value prize draws (e.g., spa pampering days) and team-bonding events.
  • The Ultimate Incentive: Stand a chance to win a fully inclusive, 7–10 day overseas team-bonding holiday for two!

Time Off & Flexibility

  • Annual Leave: 20 days of paid holiday per year, plus all 8 public bank holidays (28 days total).
  • Work Flexibility: While this position is based at our Worthing office, we are always prepared to offer some flexibility on working hours and remote work options for the right candidate.

Health & Wellness

  • Mental Health Support: Full, confidential access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and professional counselling services.
  • Eye Care: Fully covered Specsavers vouchers for regular eye tests and glasses.

Growth & Perks

  • Fully Funded Learning: We pay for your professional training courses, technical conferences and higher learning certifications to help you master new AI frameworks.
  • Premium Tech Setup: Your choice of a brand-new, high-spec MacBook or Windows laptop to build your ideal development environment.
