DESCRIPTION
Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Theatrical PR Manager to lead our theatrical slate in the United Kingdom.
This role will develop and execute comprehensive publicity strategies for all theatrical releases across the UK, while also crafting corporate storytelling around Amazon MGM Studios' theatrical expansion in the market. You will serve as the senior PR strategist for the UK theatrical marketplace, working closely with our US and EMEA teams while leading local agency relationships and managing all aspects of theatrical PR campaigns. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of the UK entertainment and media landscape, established relationships with high-profile media and industry stakeholders, and a proven track record of delivering successful theatrical publicity campaigns that drive cultural conversation and box office results.
Key job responsibilities
This role will develop and execute comprehensive publicity strategies for all theatrical releases across the UK, while also crafting corporate storytelling around Amazon MGM Studios' theatrical expansion in the market. Key job responsibilities
- Develop and lead strategic publicity campaigns for theatrical releases in the UK
- Create and execute corporate communications strategy around Amazon MGM Studios' theatrical business expansion in the UK
- Lead and manage local agencies and external vendors to deliver best-in-class campaigns
- Orchestrate press junkets, talent appearances, and stunts across the UK
- Build and maintain relationships with key media, cultural influencers, entertainment journalists, talent reps, and industry stakeholders across the UK
- Provide strategic counsel to leadership and cross-functional partners on cultural nuances and UK market-specific opportunities
- Develop messaging and provide issues management support for talent and filmmakers
- Monitor and report on campaign effectiveness, coverage, and marketplace dynamics
- Design and oversee screening programs, tastemaker events, and innovative stunts/activations to generate earned media
- Lead UK festival strategy in concert with global and EMEA priorities
- Manage theatrical publicity budgets for the UK with a focus on efficiency and ROI
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, social, and distribution
- Present campaign strategies and results to internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with EMEA teams to ensure UK campaigns are aligned with regional and global strategies while maintaining local market relevance
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members and agency staff
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in professional communications or public relations
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree or industry equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
- Extensive entertainment publicity experience in the UK market; demonstrated experience managing theatrical publicity campaigns for global tentpoles
- Proven track record of leading successful theatrical publicity campaigns from strategy through execution
- Demonstrated experience managing high-profile talent relationships and navigating complex media situations
- Strong relationships with UK media outlets, entertainment journalists, critics, festival programmers, and cultural organizations
- Experience managing agency relationships and publicity budgets
- Proven ability to develop corporate messaging and storytelling for business initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience dealing with high profile talent
- Experience managing complex and fast-moving issues
- Experience in creating and managing budgets
- Experience managing and coaching team members
- Experience at a major studio, entertainment company, or leading PR agency
- Deep understanding of the evolving media landscape and cultural trends in the UK
- Experience working across theatrical and streaming windows
- Understanding of box office metrics and the theatrical marketplace in the UK
- Experience working collaboratively with international and regional teams to align local strategy with broader organizational priorities
