Care Assistant - Complex Care

Rickmansworth

£15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide high-quality support to a client during school hours.

Your care will enable them to live safely, confidently, and with dignity in their own home.

This is a meaningful 1:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.


About the Client


  • Our client is a 6-year-old girl with complex care requirements who lives at home with her parents.


  • She is a very happy a bubbly girl, she is non-verbal but communicates through cries, vocal sounds, smiles, and purposeful movements. She also understands some Swahili phrases.


  • Service user a loving and sociable young girl with a complex medical history, including infant leukaemia, bone marrow transplant, and hypoxic brain injury, which has led to dystonia, delayed development, and multiple physical and neurological needs. She requires full support with all aspects of daily life. Objects of reference help her anticipate routines and make simple choices.


  • Despite the service user challenges, she thrives on close connections. She loves spending time with her family, cuddles, music (especially her iPad playlists), watching cartoons like Cocomelon, and gentle sensory play such as massage or being swung in a duvet.


  • Calm, quiet environments, familiar voices, and predictable routines helps her feel safe and settled. Social interaction is very important for her wellbeing, and with the right support she is happiest when engaged, comforted, and included.


  • Other information: Must be good with dogs


Clinical Requirements

Staff should have specialist expertise in supporting individuals with:


  • Experience working with children
  • A driver is required for this role, due to our client’s location
  • Non-verbal communication skills
  • Moving and handling
  • PEG experience
  • Dystonia experience
  • Diabetes experience
  • Learning disabilities experience


Shifts Available

We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.


  • School day shifts – 08:00AM to 16:00PM
(Monday to Friday)


What the Role Involves

  • Delivering compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
  • Comforting the client when unsettled
  • Supporting with community access and social activities
  • Promoting independence and dignity in all tasks
  • Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
  • Communicating effectively with the clinical, care, and coordination teams

Your presence will help the client feel safe, supported and in control of their daily routine.

  • Strong communication and reliability, with the ability to build trusting relationships with both clients and their guardians.

  • Ability to work independently and professionally

Compliance Requirements

All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, reference checks, Right to Work verification and full CQC/Schedule 3-compliant onboarding.


Referral Bonus

  • £150 for every Healthcare Assistant you refer
  • £250 for every Registered Nurse you refer
Paid once your referral completes 150 hours.
