LIVE-IN FARM & DOG SITTER

Location: GU30 Passfield | Accommodation: Live-in accommodation provided on site

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, responsible and animal-loving Live-In Farm & Dog Sitter to join our small farm and provide care and support when the owner is away.

The successful candidate will live on site and will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of the owner's dogs and the farm animals, particularly at weekends and during periods when the owner is travelling abroad. The role would suit someone who is confident around animals, enjoys country living and is happy to get involved with the practical day-to-day running of a farm.

Key Responsibilities

Dog Care

· Provide daily care, companionship and exercise for the owner's dogs.

· Feed the dogs according to their individual routines and requirements.

· Ensure dogs are safe, settled and well cared for while the owner is away.

· Administer medication where required and as instructed.

· Maintain clean and safe areas for the dogs.

· Monitor the dogs' health and wellbeing and report any concerns promptly.

Farm & Animal Care

· Manage animal feeds, particularly at weekends and when the owner is away.

· Feed and check livestock and other farm animals according to established routines.

· Assist with general animal husbandry and routine farm duties.

· Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury or other concerns.

· Ensure animals have access to clean water, appropriate feed and suitable accommodation.

· Assist with maintaining animal housing, yards, gardening, paddocks and surrounding areas.

· Carry out other practical tasks around the farm as required.

General Farm Support

· Be vigilant about the security and general upkeep of the property and farm.

· Assist with basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks associated with the animals and farm.

· Keep the owner informed of any problems, incidents or issues requiring attention.

· Follow established routines, instructions and animal welfare procedures.

· Be prepared to respond appropriately to unexpected situations involving the animals.

About You

· Highly responsible, trustworthy and dependable.

· Genuinely passionate about animals and their welfare.

· Comfortable handling dogs and farm animals.

· Ideally experienced in animal care, farming, equestrian work, kennel work or a similar environment.

· Practical, hands-on and happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Observant and able to recognise when an animal may be unwell or injured.

· Capable of working independently and using initiative.

· Calm and sensible in an emergency.

· Respectful of living and working on a private property.

· A good communicator who will keep the owner updated while she is away.

· Flexible and willing to help with a variety of tasks around the farm.

Live-In Requirement

This is a genuine live-in position, and the successful candidate will be required to reside on the farm. Accommodation will be provided on site.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a rural lifestyle and would like to combine living in the countryside with practical work involving animals.

Experience

Previous experience with farm animals and/or dogs is highly desirable. Formal qualifications are not necessarily required, provided the candidate has suitable practical experience, a good understanding of animal welfare and the confidence to work independently.

A full driving licence would be advantageous.

What We Offer

· Live-in private accommodation on the farm.

· A peaceful rural working environment.

· The opportunity to work closely with a variety of animals.

· A varied and practical role with considerable independence.

How to Apply
