Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food service, possess excellent customer service skills, and be committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Duties

  • Prepare and assemble a variety of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the deli counter, providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment regularly
  • Manage stock levels, restocking shelves and ensuring product freshness
  • Upsell additional items to maximise sales opportunities while providing helpful recommendations to customers
  • Follow food safety guidelines diligently to ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively during food preparation
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed
  • Handle cash register operations accurately and efficiently during transactions

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock management
