Full job description

Overview

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll help keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service. You’ll work closely with the bakery and cafe team, supporting smooth food preparation and helping maintain a welcoming hospitality environment.

Duties

  • Wash and put away crockery, cookware and utensils, keeping work areas tidy and clear.
  • Use an automated floor scrubber/vacum
  • Clean kitchen surfaces and equipment, following safe food-handling and hygiene practices.
  • Receive and store deliveries, rotating stock and alerting colleagues to low supplies.
  • On down times assist with basic food preparation.
  • Your impact: Clean, ready-to-use equipment helps bakers produce efficiently and cafe staff serve customers promptly.

Qualifications

Required: You’ll need to work reliably as part of a team and solo when closing, follow hygiene and safety procedures, keep your work area organised, and handle cleaning and basic food preparation tasks with care. Preferred: Restaurant, kitchen, hotel, culinary or wider hospitality experience is useful, as is familiarity with cooking or serving; these strengths can help you support the team confidently during service.

Pay: £10.85-£13.50 per hour
